We no longer want our quilting ministry to be our best kept secret! On Monday mornings these folks enthusiastically get together in O’Malley Hall (Church basement) and produce 2 finished quilts each week. These quilts are donated to charities, schools and community centers. If you would like to help iron, cut, sew, pin, etc. (no experience necessary) come on down to O’Malley Hall! ALL are welcome! Some come in and setup irons, cutting tables, sewing machines and frames at 7AM. Some go to 8AM Mass. At 8:30 they share a light breakfast, prayer and then begin working. It is quite an impressive operation. They also need remnant material to cut up, large pieces of material (especially sheets) for backing, light blankets for filler and yarn for final ties.
Pope Francis says we help those in need, "by looking them in the eyes and touching their hands." What a great example of this love in our community.

Did you know? Today is summer solstice, and the feast day of our patron saint, St. Aloysius Gonzaga.
The parking lot behind the St. Als Parish Center is OPEN!! You can enter the lot from Ruby by turning onto Desmet and driving around the new GU fine arts building OR come off Sharp onto Astor as you're used to. The Gonzaga admin lot will also continue to be available for us to use on weekends for Church parking.

Our St Aloysius Young Adult group spent three days on retreat this weekend in community and prayer, finding God's grace in the midst of transitions. . Special thanks to members of the Young Adult Leadership Team who helped organize the retreat, along with Fr. Jerry Graham, SJ who led all of our presentations!
